Outfits for Kaylee

I have made quite a few outfits for Kaylee this summer.  I wish I could get pictures of her in them.

matching football shirts

I made these using the freezer paper method.

Smocked Dress

My first attempt at a smocked dress from the smocking to the construction of the bishop.

I love this set I made for a friend of my mom's.

Some orders and gifts

One of Troy's birthday shirts

One of the best things to me about "crafting" is that I get to make stuff for other people.

Order for lady at my mom's work. Horrible picture (I took it in the car on the way to deliver it).

Birthday gift for one of Troy's friends at church.

Birthday gift for a little boy who loves the movie Cars.

Crayon roll for same little boy

Burlap Door Hangings

My project for today was to make these door hangers.  I've admired so many on Etsy and was finally brave enough to try them on my own.  I am not a painter, and really don't enjoy painting, but I do like how these turned out.  I'm not sure which one is my favorite, the pumpkin or the footballs?  and no, I am not an Auburn fan, this is for a gift.  We are Troy fans all the way in this house!

Birthday crafts

I like planning parties and for Troy's second birthday, I picked a dump truck theme.  I made the cake, Troy's tshirt, cupcake toppers, water bottle labels, food labels, names for construction hats, and the labels on the cups.  I turned ice cream cones into road cones.  I thought everything came together well and I'm ready to start planning the next one.

Applique files

I sure wish I had more time to actually make stuff!!!  I miss making things!  Here are a few things that I did for a lady at work (there were 8 total, but I didn't get pictures of all of them)....unfortunately, it took me three weeks to actually get them done.  My favorite is the frog and flip flops!

Craft night

At this month's craft night, we made cakes and earrings. I didn't make any earrings because I already knew how to make those, but I did get "our teacher" to show me how to make better bracelets, so I made Kaylee a bracelet.

I made cupcakes, following this guideline.

My favorite accomplishment though is that I made a fondant cake. I've never attempted anything like that before, and I was so pleased with how it turned out. I read lots of tutorials before I attempted it and watched one video. Here is the recipe I used:

It's too pretty to cut, but I do wonder how it tastes. I did taste the fondant before I put it on the cake and it tastes good, but I ran out of buttercream icing as I was coating the under layer and a friend let me use the rest of her cream cheese icing. I'm not sure how the cream cheese icing and buttercream icing will taste together, but sugar is sugar, right?

Craft night

At work, I initiated a once a month craft night for the ladies at our school to come together for a craft night. For January, we made scarves out of tshirts and jewelry pendants. I didn't get a picture of all of the pendants (the group made over 50 that night). I love how they turned out.

We had 16 ladies show up and it was a ton of fun. The different personalities that were present made it so fun and getting to socialize with each other outside of school was also fun. I meant to get a picture last night of our group, but this is a picture from today with everyone wearing their scarf. Unfortunately, not everyone is in the picture. I'm already looking forward to next month.
